Awesome places you should know about Part. 2

New York Aquarium

Right before Coney Island is the New York Aquarium. The Aquarium is home to 266 different species of animals and is the oldest continually running aquarium in the United States. However, the aquarium isn't as big as it sounds. You can probably see the whole thing in a couple of hours, but there are shows and presentations that might keep you around.

Hours of Operation:
Sept 2- May 22: 10:00 am- 4:30 pm
May 23- Sept 7: 10:00 am- 6:00 pm

Admission into the aquarium is $10.75 when you pay online or $11.95 at the gate. However, on Fridays the park has a pay what you want option starting at 3;00 pm.

The aquarium is a little pricey at first glance, but if you get out of school at a reasonable time on Friday you can view the whole place in under two hours easily.

The Exhibit includes multiple types of aquamarine life including walrus', penguins, sharks, seals, sea lions and plenty of different types of fish. When you're done with the aquarium you will be right near the beach, so you can head right there after. The aquarium is kind of a secret to New Yorkers because it really isn't well known. The place isn't the biggest aquarium and its a little out of the way, but it is accessible from public transportation. You can take the F or the Q train and it will bring you right there.
